On 14 May 2025, Tahera and Denis, members of the Children’s Advisory Team (CAT) Bureau, represented the team at a general meeting with partners of the Canada project, officially titled “The Now and the Future: Advancing the Rights, Empowerment and Protection of Child Human Rights Defenders.”

This three-year project, led by Child Rights Connect and supported by Global Affairs Canada, aims to strengthen the rights and protection of child human rights defenders (CHRDs) across the globe. The project brings together national and global partners- including the Alana Institute (Brazil), CRIC (Moldova), Plan International (Togo), Amnesty International (Thailand), and Save the Children- to amplify children’s voices and support their advocacy efforts.

During the meeting, Tahera and Denis shared updates from the CAT, reflected on recent activities, and contributed to discussions on how to further empower children in their roles as human rights defenders.
