Child Advisors Engage in Evaluating Europe’s Children’s Rights Strategy

Child Rights Connect supported the participation of seven child advisors at the Mid-Term Review Conference organized by the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on April 3 and 4, 2025. Lana, Denis and Sarah, members of the Chidlren’s Advisory Team were among them.

The child advisors actively contributed to two key sessions: a) Protecting children from violence through age-appropriate comprehensive sexuality education (April 3); b) Promoting children’s participation in decisions about their health (April 4). Furthermore, the child advisors presented a report with the outcomes of the consultations related to the development of the Committee of Ministers Recommendation on comprehensive sexuality education and launched a booklet titled “Your health, your say! Key messages from the Council of Europe’s Guide to children’s participation in decisions about their health”. The booklet is complemented by an Annex with practical tips for any adult who wants to use this resource with children, for instance parents, teachers, social workers and health professionals.
