On 18 March 2025, Child Rights Connect’s Children’s Advisory Team (CAT) submitted a powerful contribution to the call of UN Highs Commissioner to gather information for his report on Children and Armed Conflict. This submission was based on a series of consultations led by four CAT members, each of whom engaged with children in their own communities to gather perspectives on how armed conflict affects their rights and daily lives.

The resulting report presents a collective reflection of children’s experiences in conflict-affected areas, highlighting the severe impact on their safety, education, mental health, and family life. It also outlines the protective measures that children have found helpful, while identifying critical gaps in support and protection. The CAT’s submission calls for stronger, more inclusive responses that prioritize children’s voices and ensure their rights are upheld, even in the most challenging circumstances. This initiative underscores the importance of meaningful child participation in shaping policies that directly affect their lives.
