Our Approach
We believe that children’s rights can only become a reality for every child, if all States fulfill their obligations to promote and protect children’s rights, and if children are empowered to claim their rights.
With a global perspective two main actors are responsible to ensure this:
- Civil Society empowers rights holders (children) to know and claim their rights. Children’s rights defenders, including children, hold States accountable and support them to fulfil their obligations.
- The United Nations develop and ratify international human rights instruments, such as the UN CRC and its Optional Protocols. Through their mechanisms, they hold States accountable to fulfil their duties.
