We are pleased to share the Child Rights Connect Annual Report 2025, reflecting a year of significant challenges, transformation and resilience for our network.
2025 in their words – A Year of Transformation:
“ Child Rights Connect remains an indispensable partner in advancing the mandate of the Committee on the Rights of the Child and strengthening the global system of accountability for children’s rights. Through its tireless work in mobilising civil society organisations from every region of the world, Child Rights Connect ensures that the Committee’s monitoring function is informed by diverse, credible, and ground-level perspectives. By facilitating the preparation of written submissions and creating meaningful opportunities for both in-person and online engagement with the Committee, it helps bridge the gap between international human rights mechanisms and the realities faced by children in their communities “
Prof. Dr. Sophie Kiladze, Chair, UN Committee on the Rights of the Child
“2025 was a year of paradox and transformation for Child Rights Connect. As this report details, our organisation faced unprecedented challenges: the loss of a thirty-year core funding partnership with SIDA, the global funding crisis affecting CSOs worldwide, and the continuous shrinking space for civil society including a sustained pushback on children’s rights. Yet, against these headwinds, the network endured and even grew. Eighteen new member organisations joined our network, bringing our total to 128 from 47 countries, the majority of them operating in the Global South. Organisations working with children whose proximity to the sharp edge of rights violations makes this network’s work the most urgent cause to join. This growth, at a moment of institutional fragility, is a testament to the unwavering solidarity and shared conviction among our members and broader child rights community. Together, we confirmed that this network is not just valuable, but indispensable.”
Mikiko Otani, President & Rossella Urru, Interim Executive Director
