Child Rights Connect welcomes the Committee on the Rights of the Child’s transition to the OHCHR Events Platform for the submission of alternative reports.
From now on, civil society organizations, national human rights institutions, ombudspersons and children should submit their reports directly through the OHCHR Events Platform: https://events.ohchr.org/
The CRC’s move to the OHCHR platform aligns its submission process with that of other UN human rights treaty bodies, creating a more harmonized, accessible and user-friendly experience for organizations engaging with the UN human rights system. It also marks an important step in the ongoing digital transformation of the treaty body system, helping streamline procedures.
For many years, Child Rights Connect hosted and managed a dedicated platform that facilitated the submission of alternative reports and strengthened civil society participation in the work of the Committee. We are proud to have supported children’s rights defenders worldwide and welcome this positive development towards a more coherent reporting process across the UN treaty body system.
